Prams on parade....
The Pram Society was founded by Pat Holgate and myself in June 2009..
the idea behind the venture is to bring to the publics attention these beautiful elegant tactile pieces of art!
I am sure Pat will agree, that we are very very proud of our achievements so far, us ladies have some wonderful Men supporting our passion, Pats wonderful Norman and my wonderful Roy, not forgetting the other girls and boys[they know who they are]...they have put up with our pram chatter they have dressed in period costumes lifting prams in and out of vans, fixing wheels and tyres, making the tea!!....but they all have a good time together, and so do we! lol
We have had the most productive last three years, getting together as a small society, with our elite members, we insist as a group that we dress in period costume to keep in with the era of the pram, if you dont dress up you cannot be a member!!...
we managed to cover all the decades last year, 2012 is proving to be as busy, if not busier than 2009 and 2010 and 2011 !
Another string to our bow, is an invite from the Heritage Open days which run nationally from 9th to 12th September, The Hull Civic Society have asked us to do a parade and a display, in period costume of course! Our third year is on the horizon
We have also invited to do a few radio interviews regarding this fabulous event, the prams as always caused quite a fuss, to say the least..
.
we have been invited back for the event in 2012, we had a great turnout over 17 ladies attended to push there prams, and charges!
The Pram Society will be hoping for an even better turn out this year.
Please check the dates on Pats site Classycanopies as i have not got them on my site yet..
We have achieved Television radio, newspaper and magazine notoriety in the last year, we are going from strength to strength... we have many invites from stately homes to the vintage steam fairs we will always oblige when we can.
Pat is the most wonderful seamstress, and is responsible for most of the costumes you are about to view.. Jackie x
